REIWA has launched its 2017 State Election campaign, which will roll out four key policy reforms over the next three weeks to help put property issues on the agenda and stimulate activity in the market to help drive growth.
REIWA President Hayden Groves said the Institute, in consultation with its members, had identified four key priority reform areas and were seeking commitment from all political parties on these issues.
âCurrently property issues are not on the agenda for any political party. The issues of affordable housing, appropriate housing, and accessible housing affect every day West Australians and should be a priority for whoever forms government,â Mr Groves said.
REIWA’S Wishlist:
No increases to state property taxes and commit to a state tax
Abolish land tax aggregation
A 50% concession to transfer duty on all off-the-plan apartment purchases
An exemption to transfer duty for seniors aged over 60 when ‘right sizing’ from their primary residence
